Metro NYC

Today, I have spent much time researching the Metro (subways and busses) in order to orient myself to how best to get around the city.  In all the trips that I have taken to New York over the years, I have never "cracked" the subway system to my liking.  I am determined to master it this time to feel like a native New Yorker.


To that end I have been using Hop Stop (for subway suggestions), the metropolitan transit authority (schedules and advisories) and google maps for everything else.  In addition to letting me have some idea how to get to and from classes, it gives me an idea of how to get around like a seasoned native.  In fact tonight I just found a new site (not sure how useful it will be yet) called arrive on time.  I will keep this blog posted.


One of my first jobs upon arriving in the city will to buy my Metro card, to keep me moving and free!
